1. Deepor Beel
One can find this beautiful freshwater lake immediately after they start their journey from Guwahati airport. The Dipor Bil, also spelt Deepor Beel which means "lake" in the local Assamese language is located to the south-west of Guwahati city, in Kamrup district of Assam. It is a permanent freshwater lake, in a former channel of the Brahmaputra River, to the south of the main river. It is also called a wetland under the Ramsar Convention which has listed the lake in November 2002, as a Ramsar Site for undertaking conservation measures on the basis of its biological and environmental importance. One can see an amazing number of birds who come here in this lake to fish while visiting this lake. There is also a small Shiva temple at one end of the lake.

2. Assam State Zoo
The Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden (popularly known as Guwahati Zoo) is the largest of its kind in the North East regionof India. This zoo is located within the Hengrabari Reserved Forest at Guwahati, India. The zoo is home to about 895 animals, birds and reptiles representing almost 113 species of animals and birds from around the world. Tourists visiting the zoo can also visit the newly opened Assam State Zoo Museum.

3. Paltan Bazaar
Paltan Bazaaralso known as the Polton Bazaar is a locality of Guwahati famous for its markets and tribal shops which sell various handicrafts and other items. It is surrounded by the localities of Pan Bazaar, Dighalipukhri, Rehabari, Fancy Bazaar. Its location in the central part of the city-centre is the hub for transportation and hotels in Guwahati, Assam. With Guwahati Railway Station, the ASTC bus stand, numerous hotels, restaurants, offices and stops of numerous private bus service (regional) providers, makes it one of the busiest and congested area of city.[3] There are also many small shops selling traditional garments from various parts of the North-East.

4. Sweet Falls
Sweet Falls is one of the steepest and the most thrilling single stream water falls of Meghalaya. It is situated at outskirt of Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. During the monsoon season the sound of falling water and the lush greenery of hills, makes the sight breathtaking and spectracular. Sweet falls is definitely a sweet place to visit. 5. Umiam Lake
One of the popular tourist spots in Shillong, Umiam Lake is a vast and scenic reservoir that attracts a large number of tourists from across the country.
